and what have i got
a hippopotamus of faith
a barrel full
of peeled laughter
and what do i want?
a large tank,
a larger heart
and a thicker skin
i dunno’
if i knew
i wouldn’t ponder
if i knew
i wouldn’t ask
if i knew
yet still
i’d wonder
if i knew
i’d wear the mask
and what is there
i have yet to get
nothing is certain
nothing is set
i'll know it
when i see it
but
i don’t see it yet
how will i know
how will i forget
and what have i got
a box of crocodile tears
a barrel full
of breezy teethed screams
and what do i want?
a never smile
look on my dial
no cya later
i’m the ‘in a while’
i dunno’
if i knew
i’d wish i didn’t
if i knew
i mighta lied
if i knew
and i couldn’t
if i knew
maybe then
i woulda tried

Ah the crocodile tears. Some people seem to have a generous amount of it. Loved your poem!
