Me in the Stars
So if you look at the traditional Zodiac Star chart I am a Sagittarius. However I am not one to be satisficed with being just one thing, so I look at all kinds of different star charts. For example: In the Celtic chart I am an Elder Tree, and also a Black Horse. In the Native American chart I am an Owl, and according to three different websites I could be one of two different Flowers: the Carnation or the Narcissus.

The Ambiguity of Horoscopes
My mother birthed me into this world on June 3rd, 1971. That means I fall smack dab in the middle of the Tribe of Gemini. I discovered my sign as an older child, not because of a belief in astrology but because a tabloid rag in the check-out line spotlighted a story about famous Geminis on the front cover. I learned I had something in common with Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe and John F. Kennedy. After I learned my sign, for entertainment, I occasionally read the horoscopes in my local newspaper. The editor of the paper stuck the horoscopes in a small box on page three. People with failing eyesight probably utilized a magnifying glass to absorb the possibilities for the day or checked to see if the predictions had rang true. I found the prognostications to be quite vague. No "soothsayer" dared to share anything too specific for fear of looking like a fraud, besides as long as they predicted plausible life happenstances and people read their work, the "prophets" earned a paycheck.

just as the stars do
I reached up and grabbed hold of one, a star. I was hesitant thinking it would be too hot but was surprised to find it was cool, it spun softly in my hand. As I reached I realized the stars looked like tiny pinpricks in the sky, there to make sure we had enough air to breathe. I took a deep breath and grabbed another star, and just like that, I was using them as footholds. As I climbed as fast as I could, I was passing through the constellations. I passed Cassiopeia. I had my foot stuck in Orion’s belt. I was climbing further and further away from the Earth. Where was I going? Only the stars knew.

The Scorpio Inside Me
I think there is a grey line that separates the hardcore believers in the universe and all it's workings from those who put their faith in other places.
