Somers Bowlers Have a Good Time with Sweep Over Ossining

On Wednesday January 22, the Somers bowling team hit Route 35, and while ready to roll against Ossining at the Cortlandt Lanes, Coach Erik Tetro always looks beyond the scoresheet to measure success for his team. “All I really care about is them learning to be on a team, to pick each other up and to become good friends,” said Tetro. Of course, the coach doesn’t mind if the bowling goes well too.

On Monday February 17, between 300 and 400 people gathered outside Senator Schumer’s office in Peekskill and made some noise during the Fight Back President’s Day Rally. The talking points were many, but Andrew Courtney encapsulated the primary objective.

Twenty-Seven consecutive first half points seemed to have the Tuskers coming in for a landing. But Whitesboro fought back to within ten, and the defending champs had to get back into the grind with 3:21 left in the third.

Somers Prayers Not Answered in Heartbreaking Loss to Lakeland

But the Tuskers fought back and took a 57-55 lead with five seconds remaining. Even better, a one handed heave by Nick Ferrante was clearly going to brick the backboard, and celebration was forthcoming. The only thing left was to wait for the geometry.

John Jay Falls by One to Fox Lane

But unfortunately, the Foxes put a bookend on the afternoon that definitely didn’t make the Wolves day.

John Jay Turns Full Court Press into Blowout over Greeley

The first round of the North Salem Booster Club Tournament, the Wolves proceeded to turn up the intensity and the Quakers really felt the heat.
