Musical Alphabet Letter L
Usually, we choose songs we like by the melody, the lyrics, and by the musical genre. I’m starting a series with songs from all kinds of genres going according to the alphabet. Color My World With Music
The heading refers to a great hit by the band called Chicago. This is a band that has created quite a stir in their time and hails from Chicago, Illinois. Chicago is an American rock and roll band that was formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1967. They were successful with a string of hits through the 1970s and 1980s and they count among the longest-running and most successful rock groups in history. During the 1970s Billboard referred to them as the leading U.S. singles charting group. Altogether Chicago has 22 gold, 18 platinum, and 8 multi-platinum albums and 21 top-ten singles. In 2016 the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2017 Peter Cetera, Robert Lamm, and James Pankow were elected to the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 2020 the band received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

The capital of Thailand, Bangkok is a sprawling metropolis with many decorative shrines and a vibrant street life. The Chao Phraya River has a network of channels and is full of boats. You can take a cruise on the river and see many interesting places such as the Grand Palace.

The Dream Weaver Has Flown
On September 4, 2023, we lost another talented singer American musician, and composer Gary Weaver. He was best known for his 1976 hit song “Dream Weaver”. In London, England where he spent seven years he was a member of the British blues rock band Spooky Tooth. He became close friends with former Beatle George Harrison and played keyboards on Harrison’s 1970 triple album All Things Must Pass. Wright passed from this world at the age of 80 after battling with Parkinson’s and dementia.

Birmingham in Jones Valley
Birmingham is a city in the north-central region of the U.S. state of Alabama. The Birmingham Museum of Art is located in the heart of the city’s cultural district and opened its doors in 1951. Its permanent collection consists of more than 25,000 art objects. Its collection of Asian art is one of the finest in the Southeast and its collection of Vietnamese ceramics is one of the best in the world. Other highlights include a Kress collection of Baroque and Renaissance paintings, decorative arts and sculpture, 18th-century European decorative arts, and the world-renowned collection of Wedgwood china. The museum offers lectures, events, and activities for a variety of audiences including school children.
