Why Portugal
Few Americans have yet to discover Portugal. We went recently to visit my British family in Vila Nova de Milfontes in the South. Our journey started in Lisbon where we stayed in an apartment in the central part of Lisbon. Our airfares were inexpensive and our accommodations through Airbnb even more so (we never paid more than $100.00 a night).

The Hidden Gems of Queensland's Coast
You may have heard of Whitsunday Island, Fraser Island or Airlie Beach, and these are all amazing places to visit on your trip to Queensland. But if you're after something a little less tourist-y, this is the trip for you. You don't need much - you can do this in a week, as long as you have a vehicle, somewhere to sleep (a tent will do) and a little patience. Google maps will help too!

Holiday Highlights 2017
In terms of travelling, 2017 has been an okay year for me. My main big holiday this year was the four day trip around Europe in July. I stayed at the Ibis hotel near Amsterdam Central Station and travelled around using the trains and buses and also by foot.

Review: Sofitel Hotel Corniche, Abu Dhabi
PackThePJs factored in a two-night stopover in Abu Dhabi on the way home from our recent holiday to the Maldives. This was easy to do as all our flights were on Etihad Airways. Using Booking.com we chose the Sofitel Hotel, on the Corniche, in Abu Dhabi. We’ve never stayed in Abu Dhabi before, so why did we choose this hotel? Well, the price was incredibly reasonable, it is rated 5 stars, and the family room we were offered was called the ‘Prestige Suite with Executive Lounge Access and Butler Service’. Hard not to be enticed, really!

The Midwest of the United States is gorgeous. There's rolling hills, green and gold fields, and you can see for miles around. We have attractions like Chicago, the Badlands, and Mount Rushmore. Other than that, though, we're pretty lacking in excitement.

Secret Canyon Trail
Lightening clashes with millions of jewel stars dotting the onyx night. With each flash the sky pales a white-yellow. Moments later the slowly creeping night clouds would groan so loudly the sound echoes off the red rock canyon. The storm remains flashing on all sides of the scarred earth, still hours yet to climb over the muli-colored mountains and encompass the valley. The night sky goes deep before us in our pocket of clearness, miles from any light pollution. From mysterious night to pale lightening, the stars battle for their majesty only to be blocked out moments later by a more brilliant flash of light.

Why You Should Make Iran Your Next Travel Destination

There are so many art galleries, botanical gardens, tombs, museums, and mosques to explore it is not funny. You will NOT get bored in Iran, and I even think you would need several months to really explore all of the culture and richness the country has to offer.
