Comedy Has Slapped Me Around My Entire Life
I highly recommend Jerrod Carmichael’s new HBO Special, Rothaniel. It’s powerful. Much of what I have learned about racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, really all the “isms” — has come from first-person accounts that required a lot of vulnerability on the part of the storyteller. I found these accounts in person or literature, seldom, until much more recently, in film or on television. Carmichael gets raw and vulnerable and tells an important story so many can relate to.

I've changed my mind
She was unexpected, wonderful and forbidden. I first saw her, my cheeks started to blush and the butterflies fluttered and tickled my stomach. The curve of her lips always forming a seductive smile and the incredible stare that she gave sending me weak at my knees. The hair rising on my body from the radiating electricity and the yearning to feel her touch. If only I could have her.

The don't say gay bill
There's a lot of misconception about this bill. I did my research so that I would know what is going on. I definitely encourage you do the same. Before I start, I want to say that I am neutral when it comes to the bill so I will tell the facts first then give my opinion. I am getting all of my information from news articles, so let's start.

The Equability in Sports for Trans-Athletes
Jack delivers a powerful uppercut to Rob’s, his opponent, left jaw, stunning Rob for a brief second. Rob shakes off the blow and tries to counter-attack, but is blocked by Jack. Jack moves quickly to return two quick jabs to the stomach of his ring mate, before going for the head again. Rob starts to staggers slightly, but still attempts to answer back with some blows of his own. One shot is lucky enough to penetrate Jack’s defense, but connects feebly to Jack’s face. Jack knows the end is near and continues to throw a flurry of blows in opposition. With seconds remaining, the competitor eventually falls and is unable to stand up. The bout is over and Jack is victorious. The crowd cheers as Jack is announced the winner by TKO. Jack is satisfied with this win because he knew he was viewed as the underdog, yet he still rose above the challenge and won.

Homosexuality Is Still Taboo?
Because there is no expectation that a child will be of a different sexual orientation than you. Not to mention the discrimination and pain that homosexuals continue to face today. It is up to parents to be sensitive enough to determine whether or not it is appropriate to bring up the subject.

SULTANA deVILLE
SIGNED ONTO THE 6TH SEASON OF the men's "cut down on women" as dressers in drag, I pulled the name as recommended. "A name to reflect you or your fav thing, and some level of badness!" I went with SULTANAs... some of my favorite fruit... dried fruits, wrinkled and ohhh so sweet. de VILLE? a spin on badness... doing a "bad thing" as per my teachings as a little girl in a Christian minister and missionary led family, "Never go out after things of the devil child." SULTANA de VILLE dressed the part and wagged the swagger boasted by all the famous stage walkers in RuPaul's queendom. The introduction video was prepped and recorded in the one minute requirement, and I sent my application for being on the new show list of cross dressers with all intention of winning a spot among the contestants for being the "new girl" on the block.

Don't speak up now.
It' time again. The cozy kids awake from their deep slumber and get into fight mode. Someone had poked them with a stick. When I say cozy kids, I refer people like those I went to school with. Upper middle-class white, academically educated, able-bodied, mostly catholic, cis-het kids that enjoyed safety, warmth and food growing up. Whoever ticks all the boxes arguably has it quite cozy. Cozy enough to make it easy for them to understand this worlds brutality, its injustices and pain as far-away issues that do not relate to them. Maybe, for some, even cozy enough to understand themselves, however unconsciously, as superior to others.

Turns Out, Lia Thomas Isn't Even THAT Fast...
Newsweek published an interesting article, serving up some interesting facts about Lia Thomas’ times. Republicans don’t suddenly care about women’s sports. They don’t suddenly care about fairness, either. But boy howdy are there otherwise rational people jumping on this opportunity to hate on a trans woman with impunity.

It STILL Ain’t Pie
I have considered myself a feminist for the better part of my adult life. Hell, I was raised in a feminist household without even knowing it. There were no gender-assigned tasks beyond the fact that my father did the heavy yard work, but he also crocheted and baked bread and hung laundry on the clothesline. Prolly more often than my mother did. Mine was the only mother on our street who worked full time. Maybe the only one who worked outside the home at all.
