The Blue Shirt
A blue shirt, that’s all I had And a pretty little smile to make me glad. Days flowed and came the flowery season And to buy a new shirt, I had a solid reason. I bought a yellow, all bright and sunny But in my complexion, it looked kind of funny. Then I bought an orange, in accordance to the occasion So hot that I almost sweat and was filled with perspiration. I realized I could not wear the orange or the yellow But there was a shade which I still could wear It was the decent blue…… Then as the spring to summer converts, The markets flooded with brand new shirts. A purple one attracted my eye, And to buy that one, I told all sorts of lies. It was quite pretty, what the mannequin bear But too ugly it looked, when I did a wear. Then I realized I could not wear the purple either But there was a shade which I still could wear It was the earthy blue……………
