Verse] What am I to do with these wings on my arms White with gold tips they sound no alarms I fold them behind me as I soar through the sky
Verse] At the last moment you came to me Like a shadow stepping from a dream I searched for you in every face Yet there you stood
[Verse] In the smoky haze I caught your stare A fleeting moment hung in the air The world went quiet hearts beat loud
[Verse] For years I walked the streets at night Each shadow danced beneath the light I searched for you through endless skies
[Verse] I prayed for you when the sun was high Whispered your name to the empty sky Every heartbeat screamed your name so loud
[Verse] I loved you all my life without knowing your face Chased shadows in the dark to a secret place The world kept turning but I stood still
Last Sunday we thought she'd die overnight But she proved us gratefully wrong And carried on Found some more fight And showed just how strong
