DEAR DEATH

A fear in all our hearts

DEAR DEATH

Dear Death, you linger, quiet and near,

A shadowy whisper we all learn to fear.

Yet in your presence, there’s strange relief,

An end to the struggle, the ebb of grief.

You knock on the door with neither haste nor pause,

Unmoved by our pleas, our cries, or our cause.

But in your embrace, there’s a promise of peace,

A journey beyond where burdens cease.

You carry no malice, no joy, no pride,

Just the turning of time, the great divide.

A chapter’s close, a curtain’s fall,

The one who waits for us all.

Dear Death, you’re the end, yet you’re a start,

A bridge to a realm that stills the heart.

Though feared and mourned, you hold the key,

To life’s last mystery, eternity.
