It’s funny how you’ve managed to read me so well

How you’ve managed to see the cracks in my walls

And yet you’ve chosen to stay

I’ve carried so much pain,

Experienced so much trauma.

And yet, you’ve offered to stay here with me while I work to heal.

Being with you has helped to make my spirit fly again

I haven’t felt what it was like to breathe peacefully in so long

And here you came in blazing,

The light full of promises when all I could see was darkness

Stay with me

Please don’t ever leave

You’ve found something within me that needs to be loved and cherish

You offered support to something that felt like it was about to crumble in around me

I know I’ve told you how broken I am,

But even you have shared with me that even broken items can turn into beautiful works of art.

I’m so very blessed to have you in my life.

To know that life can be positive again

To feel what it means to be truly vulnerable and loved.

Your strength

Your perseverance

Is sticking to me like the gold filling in the broken seams

I’ll whisper it,

I’ll shout it for the world to hear,

I’ll smile and show everyone how much you mean to me.

Because you’re my world, my life, my meaning.

You’ll help me heal so that my purpose can truly shine for the world.
