Living with Epilepsy: How It Changed My Life - Part 2
It was difficult for me, letting all of this news sink into what was actually not a dream at all, but a reality. I still, however, could not shake off the dreadful feeling of uneasiness that haunted me with every passing second.

Living with Epilepsy: How It Changed My Life: Part 1
I've come a long way since my first encounter with something I would have to live with for the rest of my life. I was a normal child that enjoyed everything that every child would. Playing outside in the mud, with toys, or even playing with other children that you would meet in the park during the day. I made lots of friends in school and did the best I could to get the highest grades possible. I wanted to grow up and do the best I could in life. I wanted to go to college and earn a degree in my dream job in the field of engineering. I wanted to show my parents the potential I had to achieve whatever I set my mind to.

The Golden Milk Beast
Turmeric has massive health benefits as it is an anti-inflammatory compound, which means it helps the body fight foreign invaders and has a role in repairing damage. Rumour has it, black pepper helps activate turmeric by working with the curcumin, it slowly breaks down the curcumin by releasing a constituent called piperin in the liver. Curcumin is the natural color in turmeric, that's what gives it the yellow color.

It Was Just an Ordinary Saturday...
It was just an ordinary Saturday in August 2011. I was downstairs in the kitchen with my daughter (16) while my son (13) was upstairs playing on his Xbox. He had bought new headphones that day which he could plug into the TV so that only he could hear his game & not worry that it was too loud for the rest of the house.

Since we study literally all day, we expect to gain restful sleep at night. Jen hardly slept at all because of her insomnia. When she couldn't sleep, she'd study more and this completely drained her.

Treating the Whole Body
I would be one of first to hail modern medicine. Traditional medicine has come far from where it was years ago. Modern medicine saves lives every day, but sometimes at a cost of unwanted side effects. Modern traditional medicine treats the visible symptoms.

One Sentence Is All It Takes
I don't think most people really understand how much words affect our everyday lives. In less than a few mere seconds our day could be made or utterly destroyed. With one sentence our world could be turned upside down in an instant. Calling someone beautiful, saying you like someone's shirt, or even simply saying hello could make someone who felt down and depressed perk up and enjoy the rest of their day.

A Need to Switch Evening Snacks
I realize I can’t do cereal, breakfast bars, or chocolate anything for breakfast. Shakeology from Beach Body is actually giving me stamina but not in excess. I can still slow down at night with my meds. I need to improve my medication snack as well as my diet overall. I have been struggling with infusion sets failing twice in one batch, so I have decided not to use that batch since all could be flawed. I opened another box, which seems to be working so far. Having high blood sugar from failed infusion sets or a messed up bolus for insulin taken for a meal can suck.

Five Proven Health Benefits of Playing the Piano
American novelist Kurt Vonnegut loved music so much he once said: “If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph—the only proof of God he needed was music.” While many of us perhaps feel this way, did you know there are proven health benefits of playing the piano? Yes! Tickling the ivories doesn’t only seduce your ears and fill your soul—playing music can improve memory, reduce stress, and encourage creativity! So maybe it’s time to free your inner Mozart?
