The Girl With the Lotus Tattoo
As the sun began to peak out from the top of her house her toes started to warm and she felt a light gust of air hit her face. Feeling too groggy to move she attempted to go back to her dream. Dream? Did she even remember the motion picture that her mind had just played for her. What was that small gust from anyway? As her brain began to wonder her body started to come to as well. Now I know am not Princess and the Pea but I think I am lying on the gravel outside. She thought. Her eyes began to flutter open as she wondered how the thief of the night had brought her here. Finally, eyes squinted yet open, she makes eye-contact with the creature that disturbed her backyard lullaby.

Dead cats, crows feet and cancer.
I think a lot about how we live our whole lives in the pursuit of a distraction from death. You live your life looking forward to “the next thing” and one day those things run out. We’re all faced with death in our lives no matter our culture, religion or background. It is a part of life and a part of us, an inescapable truth- that we usually try to avoid thinking or talking about. Lately it’s the only thing on my mind.

Being Roger to his Jessica Rabbit
We're not going to act like this is about to be a sweep you off your feet, two tears in a bucket, go through a little drama here and there, cute, cuddly gay love story, cause THIS AINT THAT HUNNY! Instead strap yourself in to the rollercoaster that has unexpectedly, unfortunately known as my Love life, the adult years. Now, I will have to do some quick recapping for everyone that doesn't live inside my head and have been following me around everyday for the last 10-15 years, LOL. Of course, that is to be expected, so bare with me and re-read if necessary.

Angels and Ayahuasca.
For as long as I can remember I have been trying to connect with the angels. I remember at a music recital when I was little, wanting to feel their company so badly, that I sat with my hand open, hoping one of them would take it. I felt nothing, though now I know they were definitely there- singing through me.

My Work Is Rest
Living in the age of social media we are constantly bombarded with images, videos, clips, etc. of what others are doing and it can leave a lot of us feeling, or more specifically me feeling like I am not doing enough. There is always the possibility of more, working more, “grinding” harder, hustling, less sleep; all of these notions and phrases that are paraded around to make us feel like this is the highway to success and if you choose not to do these things you are simply lazy. This year I have promised myself that instead of listening to the endless chatter about working harder, I will continue to look inward and listen to what my mind, body, and spirit needs. Ignoring the things I need is a disservice to myself and the only thing I am ever truly obligated to do is care for myself. That of course inevitably includes working, but not at the expense of my health both physically and mentally.
