I Didn’t Ask To Be Strong
Dear Life, I didn’t ask to be strong, but being born in poverty, a fight for life began at birth. I had to fight for everything that I needed. I had an impatient life, so puberty passed me by. I had to grow up faster than the speed of light. You demand that I do. I am glad it did because of the emotional, mental, and psychological damage it has done to many teenagers I know; I don’t regret it not coming my way.

I Resign From Being Your Dumping Ground
To: Whoever decided I could carry the whole damn world on my back Subject: I f*cking quit This is my official, public, and gloriously overdue resignation from the unpaid, soul-sucking, boundary-destroying job of being The One Who Holds It All Together. You know the type — the friend who always shows up, the sibling who fixes everything, the coworker who never says no, the person whose phone blows up when everyone else is falling apart but who gets radio silence when it's their turn to unravel.

To Whom It May Concern (and oh, it concerns many).
To Whom It May Concern (and oh, it concerns many), I hereby tender my resignation. Effective immediately, I am stepping down from my long-held, unpaid, and thoroughly exhausting position as The Strong One. I know this may come as a shock to some — after all, I’ve held this position for years, and I’ve worn it like a badge of honor (read: a straitjacket tailored in silence). But today, with the full authority vested in me by no one but my own fraying patience, I quit.

Open Letter of Resignation. First Place in I Resign From… Challenge. Content Warning.
To whom it may concern, and it should concern you, I resign. Not from a job, or a role I ever applied for, but from the unpaid, unchosen, unrelenting labor of constantly proving my humanity. I resign from being the translator of my existence, the shield for your discomfort, the crash test dummy for your delayed empathy. I resign from surviving the world you made me walk through just to ask, politely, if I could be seen.

Bye Bye Bandit
Dear Sideshow Bandit, This is the end of the road, my friend. I have stood by you for all these years, but now, it’s over. I birthed you and loved you. I still love you. But I’m handing in my resignation as your primary caregiver - not because I don’t believe in you anymore. You know I do. But they don’t. And they are the ones who can make or break you (and me).
