Whether you're solitary by choice or simply unlucky in love, being single is complicated.
What It’s Really Like To Have Never Had A Relationship
Meet Alex*. He's a very dear friend of mine, whose name I've changed for the sake of this relationship. Whilst his name might be fake, nothing about his story and experiences are. So in advance, we should all thank Alex for his insights.

Learning to Let Go
When I was younger I was a ball of fire, always ready to get into the argument and state my opinion, even if it wasn't popular. In my relationships, I would get upset and state my mind, in detail, and one time I got so mad at my husband I slammed the cupboard door until it banged closed, open, and closed again. I was angry and everybody knew it.

Female Volcels: a Year's Reflection
Nearly a year ago I wrote a blog about female Volcels. At that time, my focus was on myself, and how I had chosen to become voluntarily celibate because I wanted to go through a period of self-reflection; to introspect upon my thoughts and feelings, who I was, and who I wanted to be as it related to what I was going through at that time.

Why being single is best
We live in a modern age where just about anything goes. Marriage has become unnecessary but sometimes advantageous or wanted. There are more people than ever having children outside of marriage or choosing to live alone and not have children at all. The good news is that we have a lot of different options available to us when we are choosing which lifestyle is best for us, the bad news is that some people blindly do what a lover wants or what they see their family and friends do, without wondering or finding out if a different lifestyle is better for them.

In love, you are born a masochist
We love to put salt on our wounds when we should be bandaging them and giving them time to heal. We scratch the epidermis of the soul every night with repeated memories, with the memory of perfume. We have a fatal dexterity to deepen our mental pit into which we fall especially at night. If we experience a kiss, we have so much power to enhance feelings that we transform it overnight into a love story, often tragic, although in its essence, it was, I repeat, just a kiss. Human imagination is a gift with infinite possibilities, but it is also the monster that at night feeds feelings and experiences that do not exist in the light of day.
