But you should know upfront, this is not a love story.”- 500 Days of Summer It’s been a little over a year and a half since I have been with my “ex-boyfriend” Griffin. We began to date just before I graduated high school. He was 20-years-old at the time and was already living on his own in an apartment down in Long Beach. Griffin has cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease that causes severe damage to the lungs and other organs. My favorite thing about him was his optimistic outlook on life, and his willingness to fight and beat his disorder, for which there is no cure.

Lavender The colour of your hair reminded me of what used to be my favourite colour. Your fragrance reminded me of what used to be my favourite scent. Lavender. A colour, a scent, a word that I was not able to get out of my mind since the day you left. I hope I remind you of something. I hope you even still think of me. I hope the sounds of footsteps that resemble mine make you tremble. Because that’s what happens to me. I know that you are gone for good & nothing can change that. If You Love Someone, Let Them Go
It’s funny how things can turn out all in your favor; it’s funny how our feelings are just temporary. I got over the breakup situation with my ex but not my feelings of love for him. I saw him for the first time after not contacting him for a month, and it was hard to see him because he was still going down a dark path. He was arrested, still doing drugs, and could possibly be going to jail soon. The girl he cheated with was still obsessed with him and kept calling him the whole time he was with me. I genuinely believed that he really did not have feelings for her and was using her like he told me. It’s a really bad situation that I’m happy I’m out of. All the people in his life currently he is just using, and all he cares about is drugs right now.

You told me to forget the taste of your love before I get trapped. But how can I forget? I have fallen so deep into this bottomless well of despair. This is not supposed to be love. You made me believe that this is how it was supposed to be. You made me think that it was supposed to hurt, to make me cry, to make me angry. What I hate you the most for is not letting me go. When I was first dating my boyfriend, there was a girl that was married to a guy I knew from school. So it came as a surprise when she was trying to be up my boyfriends' butt. I mean literally. This girl did not care that he had a girlfriend and did not like me for the simple fact that I was around him period. She hated that he was bringing me around his friends.
