Holy Half-Century, Batman! 'Batman: The Movie' Turns 50
It's hard to believe, but one of the pioneering superhero TV shows is now half a century old. Batman: The Movie is of course the feature-length version of the 1960's Batman series and it was released 50 years ago. The series was extraordinarily popular and was described on the PBS television show Science Fiction as "the biggest TV phenomenon of the mid-1960s." It might not be to everyone's tastes, particularly in an age where we have so many excellent superhero films and TV shows to enjoy, but the show certainly has a lasting legacy.

How 'Spider-Man: The Animated Series' Inspired the 'Spider-Verse'
In his 54 years in comics, Spider-Man has inspired many big storylines. But perhaps none were quite as big as 2015's Spider-Verse! Dan Slott promised to bring EVERY SPIDER-MAN EVER to the comics - and so he did. Now, you might argue that Spider-Man has had a number of stories that are much bigger in terms of emotional impact or character progression (The Night Gwen Stacy Died for example), but in sheer scale Spider-Verse takes the crown. Never before had this number of Spider-People been pulled together into one storyline, but there had been something similar...

When Power Corrupts: 8 Heroes Who Went Evil
Part of what we love about comics is the character development. Reading how a specific character grows into their role as a hero, rogue, antihero or even villain is truly entertaining. Some of our favorite characters have gone through major changes over the years as they get acclimated to their role in the universe. But some changes haven't been for the good for our favorite heroes specifically, some changes have gone quite dark as we watched our beloved hero fall into a life of evil or corruption. More often than not, the change from heroism to villainy is a slow burn - unless of course they've been possessed, which does happen often enough in the comic universe.

Hero Defining Powers We Want To See Developed Before Season 2 of 'The Defenders'
The Defenders have gone through many incarnations since their first appearance in Marvel Feature #1 (Dec. 1971). The original members were a veritable who’s who of Marvel powerhouses wielding a wide array of abilities. Between The Incredible Hulk, Namor, Silver Surfer, and Doctor Strange, there isn’t much they couldn’t handle — including The Avengers. But don’t take my word for it. You can read about the epic battle between the two iconic groups in the Avengers/Defenders War (1973).

Is Iron Man's Appearance in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' a Passing of the Torch?
It's official, Robert Downey Jr. has been added to the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming! Anyone who has read any of my posts will know that this fills me with glee. I love Spider-Man, I love all that he stands for and everything about the character. I also absolutely love the MCU and all of the associated films, so of course, finally seeing the web-slinger in the MCU is something I am eagerly anticipating. I believe that under Marvel's care, Tom Holland's version of Spider-Man will be the best one we could ever ask for.

10 Superhero Comic Series We Need To See In Live Action
Superhero season is in full swing. We are fresh off the joyride that was ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and now await, with no dearth of trepidation, the arrival of DCEU’s ‘Justice League’. Hollywood has been in reboot/remake mode for quite a while now. If we aren’t catching the third rendition of Spider-Man in a single decade, we are faced with remakes of forgotten favourites like ‘The Power Rangers’.

Spider-Man Is #TeamIronMan — But Will He Stay That Way?
I've finally had time to fully digest the news that SPIDER-MAN HAS BEEN REVEALED!!!! *ahem* Sorry about that. Just as I had made peace with the fact that he wasn't going to show up in the trailers at all, he finally appeared. After eight years, the moment we all wanted came: Marvel's flagship hero has finally been introduced in the MCU. I had goosebumps all the way through the Captain America: Civil War trailer and my favorite arachnid-themed superhero's appearance was the icing on the cake. We all knew he was going to appear, I just expected to have to wait until I saw the film.

'Agent Carter' Season 2 Overview
This post will contain SPOILERS for Agent Carter Season 2 that you may prefer to avoid. Last year I wrote an overview of Agent Carter Season 1 and the time has come again for me to look back upon the series. I've already said it, but just so you can't shout at me there is a good chance that spoilers will occur. So if you're in the UK and haven't seen it yet, you'd best click elsewhere for now (though come back once you've seen it all).
