Movie Review: 'Lego Ninjago'
Lego Ninjago has not one single laugh. It has amusing moments but not a single instance of induced laughter. And I am not just speaking for myself here. The audience I watched Lego Ninjago with was really ready to laugh and you could hear some forced attempts at trying to laugh but as the movie went on even those that kept smiling and trying to find what was happening in Lego Ninjago funny weren’t laughing. It was strange; there was no outward disdain for Lego Ninjago but there weren’t any laughs.

Culture Clash
After two years of waiting in between movies, Kingsman: The Golden Circle finally came out. I was stoked to see this new movie because I LOVED the first Kingsman and I couldn't wait for more. After seeing the preview I was really looking forward to it and was expecting the American crossover, but not in the way I thought.

The Guardian Brothers
I wasn't sure what to make of The Guardian Brothers when I sat down and put it on. It's been nearly two years since it was released in China and it recently made its way to Netflix. I had no idea of the cast of voice actors that were going to be present until the opening credits began rolling. Names like Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Mel Brooks, Dan Fogler, and a personal favorite, Mike Birbiglia.

Movie Review: 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle'
Kingsman: The Secret Service was a not particularly inventive rehash of Mark Millar’s previously adapted work, Kick-Ass. The derivative spy take on the same tropes of the super-hero send-up bored me endlessly with its nihilistic approach to James Bond minus the strange wit of Kick-Ass, which shared not just creator Millar but also director Matthew Vaughn, who couldn’t help but seem to rip off his own work in a lazy rehash.

H'ween Horrorthon: Pet Sematary
"Sometimes...dead is better."–Jud Crandall played by Fred Gwynne Hello again, hello. Let me say at the outset that I am a die-hard Stephen King fan. When dreaming of making the perfect horror movie or writing the perfect horror story back in my restless youth, his books and movies were always my favorite pastime. I read his many works and stories and watched many of his film adaptations, many of which are queued and perennial favorites in my annual Halloween Horrorthon.

H'ween Horrorthon: Scream
"You push the laws, and you end up dead. Okay, I'll see you in the kitchen with a knife". - Jamie Kennedy as Randy. I'm baaaaaack! Okay, as I previously mentioned in my post blog for Happy Birthday to Me, I am utterly convinced that both the late Wes Craven and first-time writer Kevin Williamson took apart that bizarre 1981 slasher pic and remade it as Scream; but that's only the icing on the... ahem — cake!
