Progression systems are not exclusive to RPGs but are one of the genre's defining features. While reflex-based genres like fighting and rhythm games develop the player's reaction time, RPGs have progression systems that improve the player's avatar. Unfortunately, most RPG progression systems don't make the player feel stronger in any meaningful way; instead, they settle for arbitrary numbers that increase as you level up. An engaging progression system has significant growth that substantially strengthens the avatar and custom growth that grants the player control over how the avatar grows.

Is Tarkov’s Loot Finally Better?
(Intro) Loot in Tarkov has had a tumultuous relationship. It's one of the core pillars of the game; something you should always try to do every raid you enter. It allows you the opportunities of riches, gear, and anything else you deem worthy of space in your backpack. And over the course of EFTs life, loot and everything revolving around it has changed dramatically. Maps that were once goldmines, stripped of all their luxuries; leaving not much but the scraps of better times. Nothing has hurt more playing this game over the years, than watching maps and high traffic locations you love to explore and pillage, slowly but surely, lose those treasures that brought home the rubles. For reasons not directly ever mentioned by BSG, with every new map that has been released it has been a mecha for the most loot on the ground or in containers. And then overtime, those places quietly get nerfed again and again, until the state of the economy is reflected in the prices of keys. When a west 301 key isn’t selling for millions on the flea market, you know something is wrong. But it seems as though the leash is being loosened, at least a little. Last week, there was a mention of making loot around some parts of some maps better. And from both looking online to see what others have been saying, to my own personal experiences playing, loot is better. Not by much, but there are some noticeable outliers that we will go over. But all of this begs a question that is universal across the game as a whole: is the loot finally getting better in EFT? Or is this just some kind of placebo?

(Intro) Is Tarkov pay to win? It’s a question that’s been asked for many years now, with a lot of heated conversations going back and forth on the matter. For those that think it is, they look to the different versions of the game being sold and how with all the extra stuff that is tacked on for simply paying more, it means you have a distinct advantage from those who pay for the base game. And there are those who look at this question a little deeper; beyond just the starting gear, seeing what else these more expensive versions offer to players and how much of an actual advantage does it give provide. Prestige in Tarkov is WILD
(Into) Prestige has been added into EFT and the means to get there are kind of wild. The idea itself has been floated around by the community for a long time. Something to allow players endless amount of replay value while still earning something should you go the distance and not only reset your character back to level one but take on the Herculean task of completing all the quests, getting the kappa container, and meeting the other requirements to unlock prestige. There are only two levels of prestige currently in the game, but BSG plans to add a total of ten levels by the time EFT reaches a state for a 1.0 release. The idea itself always sounded enticing; there is a large community of people within Tarkov that truly do enjoy the grind. Playing the game for tons of hours to unlock everything they possibly can, level up as high as possible, and now after patch 0.16, prestige as many times as they can before the game wipes once more. And its implementation was relatively straight forward. Again, one of the few new features that has been added to Tarkov that simply just works, which is refreshing to see. So today, I wanted to go over the prestige system in Tarkov, what it takes to get there, compare it to other games and ask the questions of why do people prestige and is it even worth doing at all.
