They Said Host Thanksgiving, What Could Go Wrong
Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends. It's supposed to be a time of remembering the things you have to be thankful for and the things that are truly important. Yet, not all Thanksgivings are what they're supposed to be, and the introduction of new influences can sometimes knock a decent Thanksgiving from being memorable, right into the record books.

A failed Thanksgivings
November 20th, 2018 I'm 39 weeks into my pregnancy, and the baby is coming any moment now, but my mother-in-law had the brilliant idea to make me angry, offend me and called me a pig. So my huge ego decided that the best solution was to go to New York and spend the holidays with my aunts.

An Evening In Paris
One of the highlights of my MBA in LBS was the MBAT trip. I should probably explain what the TLA - three-lettered acronym mean: MBA - Masters in Business Administration, LBS - London Business School and MBAT - Masters in Business Administration Tournament. MBAT is a fancy excuse to get drunk disguised as a sports tournament between MBA schools.

Christmas With Cops
Being born and bred in the Southern US, holiday gatherings may seem a little... different than what the Hallmark cards portray. For starters, the holiday seasons around here usually coincide with hunting season. Being part of a family of avid hunters, it is not an uncommon sight to see antlers hanging on the walls and to overhear talk amongst my uncles and male cousins about their latest trophies. Furthermore, no holiday gathering is complete without the men in my family congregating outside to examine a new "toy" brought by one of the others and testing it out. Usually, it's some kind of firearm, but there are occasions when it differs.

Heart Attack Holiday
It should have been a day we would remember fondly for the rest of our lives. Our first Christmas together as a couple. Surrounded by my family at the lakeside vacation home of my new in-laws, I had never been so excited for a holiday get-together. Nervous as I may have been, my affairs had never been in better order.

“I’ve seen you naked”
“you have the most beautiful eyes,” the doctor tells me as he tries to reassure my nerves while also redirecting his exam nurse; they had an uncomfortable understanding. It was my very first time crunching the paper sheets beneath my legs and wishing I could rewind to the age of 7; a time when life was basically gumdrops and lollipops.

The Joke was on me
Mystery packages thrill me I grew up in a rural area where our mail came to the post office which was about 2 and 1/2 blocks from our home. A few neighbors had actual mail boxes on the side of the road but most of us poor black and white folk used the post office. I loved walking there each day on behalf of my grandmother and peering through the small glass window of box number 64. I would turn the combination dial and the little glass door would open and I would get to take out whatever was inside.
