Jettison Humanity
Introduction: The song below was written for a dear friend. When he was a kid, he would stare into the night sky through the lens of a telescope, imagining the possibilities. Through that thin, man-made cylinder of plastic, metal, and curved glass, he was able to glimpse other worlds. He talked nostalgically about how he was fascinated by the stars and all of the space that existed beyond our fingertips. This idea kept floating up, unable to be held down by the gravity of day-to-day troubles: that all of our problems and all of our stresses would mean nothing in the vacuum of space. Sometimes we are so bogged down by the weight of our issues on this hunk of rock, but in the deep blackness of space, they are hardly significant.

Brendemere’s Self-Titled LP: A Raw, Unvarnished Roadmap to Rock’s Soul
By Ralph Walsh In an era when rock often feels recycled, Brendemere’s self-titled debut album emerges as an audacious reminder of the genre’s raw, unyielding spirit. Christopher Pennison’s project, forged from years of personal introspection and raw studio grit, is a collection of 12 tracks that recalls the rebellious honesty of classic rock while stoically addressing the themes of loss, love, and the eternal struggle for identity. Brendemere isn’t just a band—it’s an emblem of rock’s incandescent heart, committed to shaking off the dross of modern contrivance.

Divorce - Drive to Goldenhammer - Album Review
I've been planning to review more music since the reviews I posted of Franz Ferdinand's The Human Fear and Mogwai's The Bad Fire. I loved the new album from Squid called Cowards—it's odd, and dark in context but with really interesting bright-sounding noises and strange lyrics. Very proggy too. I also love the new Japanese Breakfast album and the new Courting album. For today's review though, I wanted to talk about Divorce's debut album Drive to Goldenhammer.
