I mainly write fantasy & sci-fi fiction and its neighbouring genres. Writing stories not of this world, I want my words to be an escape. Trying to improve my craft through short stories, though, I hope to write longer works in the future.

Bottom of the 9th, Bases Loaded
Game seven, bottom of the ninth, two outs, bases loaded, and down by three. His back foot kicks up dirt as he settles into the batter’s box for the sixth time this at-bat. After taking a ball that was just a bit outside, the count is full.

The Android Detective: Help Wanted
Vesper Lyra leaned her lanky frame into the door to push through the entrance lacking working electronics. A simple, painted sign in a boring and nondescript font announced that one would find a Clyde Sharpman, P.D. inside. Among the bright lights, vibrantly coloured signs, and announcements everywhere else on Wetwater Street, how she even noticed the place was a mystery. Not to mention the roughly cut-out cardboard sign in the unit’s dirty window advertising that the private detective, Clyde Sharpman, wanted help.

Author's note: The world was built, but I wasn't exactly sure what story to tell. Then, I wrote Cassian-13: The Turn which opened up many questions. I thought it might be fun to write a longer story one segment at a time and post them in Chapters. And now that I have a vague outline, it's something that might be doable.
