CFL Week 6 Recap: Changing of the Guard
Week 6 definitely had quite a few twists and turns in the CFL season. The biggest twist was that the three-game week was originally supposed to start that Friday, but there was a huge delay. The air quality in Regina, Saskatchewan was absolutely horrendous, and the cause was a wildfire in the neighboring province of Manitoba. After hours of waiting, the delay reached a point where the game finally had to be postponed for early Saturday.

Recapping a Historic 2025 MLB All-Star Game
We all love the MLB All-Star Game, don't we? Baseball's game seems to stand out over the other leagues in many ways. For one, MLB is the only league whose All-Star Game takes place on a weeknight; the other three leagues have their games on the weekend--either on Saturday or Sunday. Secondly, MLB's All-Star Game is the only one out of the main four where the players wear their team uniforms, and as much as I love All-Star gear, it is nice to see that mixture of team uniforms and colors out there. And third, it's the only game that hasn't really changed formats, it's been American League vs National League forever.

"Beyond the Gates" Week 19 Review
So Beyond the Gates took the week between June 30 and July 4 off for reasons I still cannot figure out. Even so, I figured that the show would return with a huge bang after their strange hiatus. Boy, was that an understatement! So much craziness happened in this past week on the show, and most of it happened in the same episode!

A Spooky Siege
At only 20 years of age, Sylvie Hanson didn't expect to be the owner of a castle. It happened via tragic circumstances; it was passed down by her father, Sebastian Hanson, who passed on two months prior. The castle was known as Gladstone Manor, a quaint yet spooky domicile, but it was Sylvie's--lock, stock, and barrel.

CFL Week 5 Recap: Divisional Decline
We are only five weeks through the 2025 CFL season, yet it's clear that the West is the stronger division. I had sensed this after Week 4, but Week 5 really turned things up big time. Now, Week 5 started with a West Division Thursday Night battle between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Calgary Stampeders, but that even delivered a huge surprise, as the Stamps stomped on the Bombers--the very Bombers who have represented the West five years straight in the Grey Cup--by a score of 37-16. Wow!

Deadly Desperation
On a Saturday night, Cassie Crandall was on the phone with her wife, Janine Templeton, who is the sheriff of their small town. They had been married for 10 years, but things had been contentious to say the least. Divorce was inevitable, and Cassie wanted out, feeling that things couldn't be repaired.

"Beyond the Gates" Week 18 Review
So I'm late with this recap, but this time, it's only partially my fault. Most of the blame is on CBS, and as much as I want to say why this early in the story, I'll wait a bit for that, and all I'll say for now is that your wait won't be as long as CBS' for sure. But anyway, it was the final full week in June (June 23-27), the Cup was awarded, the NBA Champions were crowned, and, but Beyond the Gates remained hot.

Thank You, Julian McMahon
The heartbreaking hits just keep on coming. On Twitter, the news broke that actor Julian McMahon passed away at the age of 56, after a private battle with cancer. McMahon's passing occurred on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, coming one day before another legendary name, Michael Madsen, left this world. McMahon's fans are many, and I am definitely included in that group. However, in my case, it's not only fandom, but gratitude. Immense gratitude.

CFL Week 4 Recap: A Tale That's Old as Time
It seems like yesterday that the 2025 CFL season started, and I was waiting so patiently for it. Now we are about a month into the season; Week Four arrived just days away from Canada Day, though it received the Canada Day prestige. It was an all-divisional schedule; two West games, two East games, making for some interesting football for sure.

O Canada: A Look at the 1992 & 1993 Toronto Blue Jays
For at least 20, maybe 25 years, I've often been fascinated by Canada. Our neighbors to the north, sitting right on top of us with a population of just over 40 million. The reasons are many. It's partly because of certain celebs from that country--Pamela Anderson, Ryan Reynolds, Jim Carrey, to name a few. Canada definitely fascinates me as a wrestling fan, because not only does Canada really love wrestling, a lot of known names are from there. Big names such as the Hart Family, Edge, Christian, Trish Stratus, and current names such as Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and two of my favorites in women's wrestling, Chelsea Green and Taya Valkyrie. But in the end, when Canada gets mentioned to me, the first thing I think of is sports.

Villainess Review: Sheryl Anderson (My Sister's Double Life). Top Story - July 2025.
Lifetime has really been delivering when it comes to villainesses lately, and I mean really delivering. It's not just the type of villainesses, it's who they get to play them. Some faces have been new to me, some haven't, and a number of them are doing this whole Lifetime villainess thing for the very first time. Last year's bunch was delicious, but this year's has really been quite epic, and the year's nearly half over.
