Which Religious Belief Forbade Yoga?

Her religion forbids her from getting extensive physical and mental health benefits, including increased flexibility, strength, and balance, as well as reduced stress, anxiety, and chronic pain.

As a Caregiver, for years, as I age, I began to experience lower back pain. I don’t like pain, nor do I like taking pain medication. #Iintend2Survive, so I must find a way to help myself and live.

Everyone knows that back pain has crippling possibilities.

More than six years ago, my body braced forward because of crippling back pain. I couldn’t stand up straight. My son suggested I do yoga. I never had to take pain meds for back pain again. Every morning, I do Travis Elliot Yoga for Lower Back Pain and Relax and Restore, too.

A family member was complaining about how back pain was crippling her. The pain meds weren’t helping.

I suggested Yoga.

She said doing Yoga goes against her religious beliefs.

Shock crippled me, and I quickly changed the subject.

I demand from Google, “Which religion goes against anyone staying physically or mentally healthy. Keeping the body flexible, slowing arthritis and other age-related health issues, and improving one’s life while contributing to flexibility. Reduce hell, while allowing me to age with grace.

While no major religion inherently bans yoga, some specific denominations and religious leaders oppose it due to its roots in Hindu spirituality. Conservative Christian groups, including the Greek Orthodox Church, have deemed it incompatible with Christian faith. Some Islamic scholars also advise against it, particularly when it includes chanting or mantras associated with Hindu deities. Google

I don’t chant or do I do any mantras. I do what must be done to maintain good health and relieve pain.

Christianity: Objections often arise from evangelical or conservative perspectives that consider yoga a form of idolatry or “new age” practice, promoting Eastern spiritualism rather than Christian teachings

In summary, the opposition is typically based on the argument that yoga is not merely a physical activity but a religious practice of another faith (Hinduism), leading to a conflict of doctrine. Google

It’s physical for me, because I am healing my body, mind, and soul through movement and exercise.

Doing anything healthy that will improve the body and mind is life-saving, religious or not. If practicing another religion is going to make me healthier, stronger, less anxious, stress-free, live longer, save money on doctor bills, and live a clean life, bring it on. I’ll take it, no matter what my religion is.

Google says:

Yoga offers extensive physical and mental health benefits, including increased flexibility, strength, and balance, as well as reduced stress, anxiety, and chronic pain. It enhances cardiovascular health, boosts immunity, improves sleep quality, and encourages mindfulness for better weight management. Regular practice can also improve brain function, posture, and overall quality of life.

Now, right here, right now, this person is using religion as a weapon instead of a tool. The benefits of yoga, right now, have nothing to do with religion. Healing without chemicals is a gift, not a curse.

I hear lots of stupid things from educated humans, but this one, “WOW!”

This person has many health issues, including a bad heart. She is also overweight and is raising a child with special needs alone. This, for me, means I must ensure I am healthy because my child will need me as long as he is alive.

Children with special needs here in a poor country where nothing is provided for them will need their mother for all of their lives. Imagine dying and leaving any special needs children to fend for themselves.

Imagine a child with autism, Down syndrome, being visually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and psychologically challenged, having to fight life on their own in a poor country.

Your brain, heart, mind, and soul do not want to go down that road.

This tears a mother’s heart apart, so nothing should prevent her from getting better health free of cost.

Yoga is a godsend, no matter the God who sent it. It became my miracle drug with no negative side effects. It doesn’t harm, it heals. It doesn’t hinder, it helps. Yoga takes your body, mind, heart, and soul to the fountain of youth while extending your life.
