A QVV Spooky Season Challenge

Spooky season is upon us and it´s time to celebrate!

Some might see this season as a time of change, while others feel the veil between our world and the spiritual world thin. Some may dance in forests, while others trick-or-treat and stuff their mouths with candy. Sometimes we do both.

Your lovely Queer Vocal Voices admins have come together over a boiling cauldron of ideas to brew the perfect challenge for this October.

So with a dash of your ex´s hair, eye of newt, and the skin of your back we created both chaos and two challenge options for you.

Your Two Challenge Options:

1. #FlipTheScript - Write a horror or Halloween themed story where all the characters are part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community (you can include a token cis straight person if you´d like)

2. #QueerSpotlight - Include a queer main character in a horror or Halloween themed story

Entry Guidelines:

-Word count should be between 666-2,000 words

-Must be submitted to the PRIDE community

-Please link your entry in the comments to helps us find your submission

-The contest is open until October 31st at 11:59PM EST*

-Open to EVERYONE, we encourage everyone to participate

Any purposefully degrading, discriminatory, or hateful submissions will immediately be rejected and are in direct violation of Vocal policies.

The 3 QVV admins will judge all the entries and select the Top 3 for the community to vote on for the final ranking.

The Prize Pool

1st Place - Unlucky lucky $13 + Feature in QVV

2nd Place - For our friends in hell $6 + Feature in QVV

3rd Place - Cerberus´s $3 + Feature in QVV

Also bragging rights. Because who doesn´t want to brag about being the spookiest ghoul in town?

Queer Vocal Voices is the only 2SLGBTQ+ writers and readers Vocal affiliated group on Facebook. Our was group born out of a need for more representation of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community on Vocal Media in all the site’s communities. The goal of our group is to elevate queer voices and queer stories with Pride in our identities. We are currently a 2SLGBTQIA+ community only. We are not open to allies joining at this time in order to prioritize queer voices.
