You Can't Chase It

(lyric)

You Cannot Chase It

Verse 1

Man chases truth like it’s his to claim,

Trying to drive God’s hand like a horse to rein.

Peace won’t follow where we stake our gain,

The heart can only find rest when it steps away.

Chorus

You cannot chase truth, it won’t heed your call,

And the peace God gives can’t be forced at all.

You can only embrace it when the noise is done,

Only God brings truth and peace to everyone.

You cannot chase it.

You cannot chase it.

Verse 2

No spell of magic spoken ever bends his hand,

No mantra shouted brings you to the promised land.

For truth won’t follow what the ego’s planned,

And peace breaks through when the heart can’t stand.

Chorus

You cannot chase truth, it won’t heed your call,

And the peace God gives can’t be forced at all.

You can only embrace it when the noise is done,

Only God brings truth and peace to everyone.

You cannot chase it.

You cannot chase it.

Verse 3

Divine love anchors every rising day,

Not man’s voice of pride that leads hearts astray.

Trust the quiet work he weaves on the way,

For his mercy holds what human hands betray.

Chorus

You cannot chase truth, it won’t heed your call,

And the peace God gives can’t be forced at all.

You can only embrace it when the noise is done,

Only God brings truth and peace to everyone.

You cannot chase it.

You cannot chase it.

Outro

All he asks of hearts as the days renew,

Is to love each other like he loves you.

Chorus:

You cannot chase truth, it won’t heed your call,

And the peace God gives can’t be forced at all.

You can only embrace it when the noise is done,

Only God brings truth and peace to everyone.

You cannot chase it.

You cannot chase it.
