The winds whisper
As she walks through the forest
They whisper a familiar phrase;
Don’t go, you’ll miss us, at least you have a family
The girl pleads with the trees, she argues with the creatures
But they all sing the same familiar phrase;
Don’t go, you’ll miss us, at least you have a family
But she cries back an awful, dreadful phrase;
I need to go, I won’t miss you, I don’t even have a family anymore.
But the willows would weep, the oaks they would sob, so don’t go along
Said the big, bold sycamore tree
The girl ran down the path, tears forming in her hazel eyes
The winds whispered their familiar tune once again,
A last shot at keeping the girl before she ran away
And never be seen again.
Don’t go, you’ll miss us, at least you have a family
But she didn’t listen this time, and ran all the way home
Until she didn’t run anymore
Because she had no home
She had no family
She had no one to run to,
So she ran to nowhere
Ran to the edge of earth, and finally stopped when she realized:
She had nowhere to go,
Nobody to run to
And so she sat in the grass, letting the wind take her by
And then the winds whispered their familiar tune that she was so used to;
Don’t go, you’ll miss us, at least you have a family
And this time, she listened to their familiar call;
And so she stood her ground, looked up at the sky
And she cried her abnormal cry:
Come get me, I need you, I won’t leave this time- I have you guys as a family
And the winds listened as they picked her up
Up into the clouds, where she had somewhere to go,
She had somebody to run to,
And the winds whispers their familiar tune:
Don’t go, you’ll miss us, at least you have a family.
