The "G" Word

Say it plainly

when did it become

a political statement

to uphold the sanctity of life?

to say out loud

genocide is a godless crime

⋆。𖦹°💥*ੈ✩‧💣°𖦹。⋆

I’ve heard it said

to live by the sword

means dying by it

what if you’ve murdered

thousands and are

fucking proud of it?

⋆。𖦹°💥*ੈ✩‧💣°𖦹。⋆

I may not have the answer

I have no cosmic calculator

yet, the world has seen

and clamored for the

cessation of this

unimaginable horror

to the sounds of

the sickening

pounding of fists

the one percent

murmuring a quaking

⋆。𖦹°💥*ੈ✩‧💣°𖦹。⋆

cataclysm on a

human scale

still the blood

continues to pool

⋆。𖦹°💥*ੈ✩‧💣°𖦹。⋆

all the wrong questions

in all the wrong mouths

⋆。𖦹°💥*ੈ✩‧💣°𖦹。⋆

as the ivy is

poisoned on the

slithering vine

leaves all scattered

tangled climbers

burned for warmth

vitriolic oil

inhaled

blistering tender lungs

⋆。𖦹°💥*ੈ✩‧💣°𖦹。⋆

ice age brought on

by the clouding

ash of our

burning humanity

poisoned air

carried across a

boiling sea

fitting punishment

for the apathetic

those frozen

in futility

⋆。𖦹°💥*ੈ✩‧💣°𖦹。⋆

for every dollar

spent razing

the desert

another rung

gets added to

the ladder

into heaven

⋆。𖦹°💥*ੈ✩‧💣°𖦹。⋆

every tear evaporates

the second it

escapes the recesses

of my burning mind

my phosphorus

white heart

how am I to carry on?

when I feel entropy

rising

K.B. Silver

First, the world demanded action, but those demands were entirely ignored. Nothing but a game of political chicken. Promises followed by violent, murderous action. The evil, the unprecedented look into the suffering, and pointlessness of "war" broke our hearts as we begged for peace, and contributed to charities in the desperate hope that something would change. Some even tried what seemed to be impossible, bringing in supplies and rescuing people from Gaza by boat, but they were repelled over and over from rendering assistance.

Now we are witnessing the world racing to war. Things happen in the night, and we wake up to a world changed over and over. Here in America, I have heard my entire life how nothing like the last world war could ever happen here. America fought the Nazis and won. Today, we see the reality. That fascism follows a pattern. That people anywhere can be seduced by the promises of peace and power bought at the cost of your neighbors who look different, who eat different foods, and maybe speak another language.

We all need to prepare to aid those being targeted, and decide now how or when we can take a stand. Evil doesn't disappear on its own. It doesn't think, "I have done enough evil, time to let a little good in." It is all-consuming. It will not rest until its work is complete. Currently, evil has declared all people of color (the global majority), all those forced to emigrate, all poor, disabled, members of the LGBTQ community, and even the hungry, to be its targets. When you think about it all together, who isn't, or won't eventually be a target?

Oh fuck yeah. KB. This is a winner for sure. This is sublime, condemning, heartfelt and still remains eloquent and well put together. Not reckless or immature. Well fucking done. Seriously impressive.
