Implosion

After It’s Gone

By Andrew C McDonaldPublished about 21 hours ago 1 min read

A pine box …

Lowered… slowly, daintily … lower..

Into the dirt…

Within lies my universe…

The end all and be all of my very being

As if a bone sucking vulture

Feasted on my still breathing corpse

I feel it …

Marrow of my mortal bones

Sucked into an all consuming

Black hole of grief…

When your heart stopped beating..

Mine stuttered to a standstill..

When your blood ceased flowing,

Bearing cleansing and life to your body

Mine chillled.. slowed… froze

Now a clotted sluggish, polluted creek

Which once was a roaring river of ecstasy

When your mortal remains stilled..

Whirling galaxies were blasted

By a myriad of supernovas

Red Shift became a blue blur

As my personal reality succumbed to

The final Apocalypse…

…… …..

A pine box …

Lowered

A handful of dirt

Tossed

A universe

Imploded

heartbreak
