I Loved You… But Never Told You

The pain of holding onto a love that was never confessed.

By imtiazalamPublished about 11 hours ago 1 min read

There was a love I never spoke,

Not because it wasn’t real—

But because some feelings grow deeper

When they’re not forced to be revealed.

I saw you in the quiet moments,

In the spaces between words,

In the way your eyes held stories

Even when your voice was unheard.

I wanted to say everything—

How your presence changed my days,

How your name lived in my thoughts

In a thousand silent ways.

But love, I learned, is not always loud,

It doesn’t beg, it doesn’t chase,

Sometimes it simply stands still…

And waits in its own sacred space.

I chose silence, not distance,

I chose patience, not fear,

Because real love isn’t in possession—

It’s in wishing someone peace, even if you’re not near.

You were never mine to hold,

Yet somehow, you became my truth,

A quiet chapter in my story,

A gentle echo of my youth.

And maybe one day you’ll understand,

Not through words, but through time—

That the purest kind of love

Is the one that never needed to shine.

So I let you go without a sound,

With a heart both full and torn,

Because some loves are not meant to stay…

They’re meant to teach—and quietly transform.
