God’s Tears Made the Oceans

Yet still we hurt him

God’s Tears Made the Oceans

God’s tears filled the oceans wide,

A love that mourned, a grief denied.

Each drop a sorrow, deep and true,

Yet still, we wound—still, we undo.

He shaped the stars with tender hand,

He breathed on dust and called it man.

Yet we, ungrateful, twist the knife,

Defy His love, reject His light.

The waters rise, the heavens grieve,

Still, He stays—He does not leave.

But how much pain must mercy bear,

Before we learn to love and care?
