Elephant in a tree
The elephant sits,
In the desert, so free,
Perched high and still,
On a fragile tree.
Branches groan,
Ready to break,
A quiet moment,
A risky stake.
How did it climb?
What led it here?
A mystery held,
Both strange and clear.
The sun beats down,
The sand winds sigh,
The elephant ponders,
The endless sky.
Time stands still,
In the desert’s hold,
A story untold,
In silence bold.

Almost like Horton Hears a Who. This is something to ponder as the elephant ponders his life as we do. Good job.
