A Face Of Stone

Ruin but not ruined

A Face Of Stone

A face of stone, a fortress torn,

By time’s embrace, both scarred and worn.

One eye of ice, one filled with fire,

A tale of loss, of old desire.

The lips are cracked, yet seem to speak,

Of whispers lost, of days once bleak.

Through hollowed cheeks and shattered skin,

A life remains, though crumbling thin.

Branches twist from wounds so deep,

Where walls once stood, roots now creep.

A castle’s ghost, a human form,

Both earth and soul in ruin warm.

Such a poignant poem on how one sees life from various perspectives. Good job.
