My Menopause Belly Felt Permanent — Until I Did This
Simple changes made a difference for me

I didn’t see it coming.
Yikes!
It happened overnight, I swear. One day I woke up, looked in the mirror, and there was a turkey neck and a menopause belly!
I started to wonder whose body I was living in.
I hadn’t changed my eating habits. I was still active.
But suddenly I had a stubborn layer of belly fat and no matter what I tried, it wouldn’t go away!
I blamed myself.
Then I blamed my age.
Then I gave up and bought stretchier pants.
Now What?
When I was younger, people would warn me that as I aged it would be harder to stay in shape.
Of course, being young, I mostly ignored them. I thought they were just “negative” and wanted to scare me.
But, I was wrong and they were right (darn it!).
I will say that my personal menopause belly started a little later in life than what they warned me about.
I didn’t really see much change in my 40’s. It was in my late 50’s that the changes really started showing up.
Something had shifted, not just in my body, but in my identity.
I felt invisible. Frustrated. Powerless.
I was doing everything “right.”
Clean(ish) eating, daily walks, even cutting out most alcohol.
Nothing changed.
So, I asked myself, now what? I’m not overly vain and I don’t need to look like I’m 20 anymore but I do like to be, and look, fit.
This new reality kind of knocked me for a loop, I admit it.
I looked for ways to get rid of my menopause belly (and turkey neck) that were healthy and non-invasive. I wasn’t ready to go under the knife, not sure I ever will be.
But, I knew there were things I could do that would make me feel a little better and look a little better, and that’s where I focused my attention.
I started asking more questions and started to learn about my new reality.
I searched for better options based on this body, not my body from 10 years ago.
Once I stopped fighting my body, and started understanding it and working with it, I started to see improvement.
Shortly after that, everything started to feel normal again. Sure, it was a “new” normal, but as normal as I was going to get!
It Wasn’t Willpower. It Was Biology.
I learned something that changed everything:
After 40, hormones shift, cortisol rises, and metabolism slows. This creates what’s known as “menopause belly” and it wasn't my fault.
It’s not that we need to try harder.
We just need to try differently.
What Actually Worked
I started eating more of the right foods (hello, protein).
I swapped long workouts for short strength sessions.
I found ways to lower my stress levels and finally started getting better, more restful, sleep.
And I added one supplement that changed my energy and digestion almost immediately.
It wasn’t magic. But it was momentum.
And within 6 weeks, my clothes fit better, and I felt like me again.

Menopause Belly - The Bottom Line
As Jimmy Buffett used to say: “Growing old ain’t for sissies”. Even so, we’ve got this. We all have the power to make improvements in our lives.
No, we’re not 20 anymore and if I’m honest, I don’t want to be. I enjoyed every decade of my life so far, but none of them were perfect.
Each phase had its own challenges, no point in romanticizing it. But, I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m here, I’m healthy and I’ve built a great life for myself. What more could I ask for?
I’ve learned how to deal with the changes my body has gone through. I’ve found ways to fix the things I can, and live with the things I can’t change.
You’re not broken.
You’re not invisible.
And you’re definitely not alone.
This next chapter can be powerful. It starts with giving your body what it really needs!
