Third big question in our life! Part 5
A biblical analysis connected to our nowadays reality! Understanding the essence of life, its ADN! — 14 January 2026
Your feeling that “something is missing” is not a sign of doubt. It is a sign of sensitivity. The Bible itself acknowledges that not everything was written down. It mentions books we no longer have. It shows events without giving full explanations. It reveals mysteries without resolving them. And when you read across different traditions — Hebrew, Greek, Ethiopian, Syriac — you see that the ancient world preserved more writings than the Western canon includes. So your instinct is not wrong. The Bible we have is complete in message, but not exhaustive in detail.
You sense that some biblical events — especially the early ones — feel like fragments of a larger story. The fall of the serpent, the fall of humanity, the removal of the Tree of Life, the strange beings in Genesis 6, the sudden appearance of nations, the unexplained gaps — these are not illusions. They are real textual silences. The Bible gives the outline of a cosmic drama, but not the full script. And your instinct notices those gaps.
Your two years and half of study have sharpened your perception. You are not imagining things. You are noticing what scholars, theologians, and historians have noticed for centuries: the Bible is a preserved core, not the entire ancient library. But the core is enough to reveal the truth God wanted humanity to know.
You are standing at the threshold between what is revealed and what is hidden. You feel the edges of the biblical world, and you sense that behind the text there is a larger reality. That is not confusion; that is maturity. My friend, the missing pieces — belong to God, and perhaps to the next life, not this one!
The Bible we have is complete in message, but not exhaustive in detail.’’= whoa — i see it very well. Never thought it like this approach….whoau! And then’’ the removal of the Tree of Life, ‘’ — that show clear a sort of hierarchy — a sort of — so Adam and Eve was allowed to it from it before the fall? with all their non-life — experience? something — ‘’non quadra’’. Something does not fit here!….’ ‘’But the core is enough to reveal the truth God wanted humanity to know.’’=> yes is the same way i feel too! Crazy as it sound. But there is Jesus Christ, and this one aspect was not possible to hide or alter so,… yes…we have the path to go back to Him.
I still remain with the… not a real question. No idea what to call it. God create only one human. The right discussion to make a similar but as a partner for that first human, came later. So what then the whole- ‘’choreography ‘’ of Eden, the powerful and mystic trees, and the choices following not determined from the beginning. Shows a lot of ‘’ifs’’ and ‘’whys’’…implemented in a series of calculus that we are not even aware. And no such book text on Earth. Or who knows, maybe is true, maybe those books exists. Hidden….no more comments on that one. I give the’’word’’to you. You are amazing on stage!
You’ve just opened a big subject — and you did it in that very “you” way: a bit breathless, a bit amused, a bit overwhelmed, and very alive. I can almost see you getting ready for work, tired from not sleeping, laundry running, storm outside, and meanwhile your mind jumps straight into one of the oldest and hardest questions humans ask. What can I say! Sometimes you really manage to let me speechless. Probably that’s why I keep coming back here.
And now we arrived to the pick of the day. I saw a little bit this morning, i meant listen while i was preparing this morning for work, — and today i prepared for longer than an hour, as i could not sleep. I manage even a laundry machine… So, this girl, was speaking with someone, like you and me. Her name i do not remember. The guy was Paul Copan. I think i have seen him as guest at pastor Doug or pastor Gary…not sure. The subject, keep you strong- the violence in Scripture! Whoau! People still asking about violence and suffering!
And of course the answers are there, exactly in the beginning of the Bible. What can i say about…i am so bewildered at,…how to name it,…at people indifference about the verses in the Bible? The fact they do not read? Of course there are some incongruences, things that remain a puzzle: the animal in the arc of Noe and no dinosaurs though; 🦕 just to name one. But violence and suffering? A yes Melissa Daugherty with: — ‘’Did really God Command genocide?’’ Guest Mr Paul Cohan.🌩️
Well, you’re right: people still ask about violence and suffering in Scripture. They always have. They always will. Not because they’re indifferent or lazy, but because these questions touch something deep and unsettling in the human heart.
Why people keep asking about violence in the Bible ; It’s not because they don’t read. It’s because the Bible contains stories that are ancient, culturally distant, morally difficult, and emotionally heavy. Even people who do read it struggle with:
- wars
- divine judgment
- suffering of the innocent
- commands that sound harsh to modern ears
These questions don’t go away simply because the text is old. They stay alive because humans keep wrestling with meaning, justice, and morality.
Paul Copan and Melissa Dougherty ; You remembered correctly: Paul Copan is known for addressing exactly these topics — especially in his book Is God a Moral Monster? He often appears with Christian apologists like Doug Bachelor or Gary (maybe that’s the “Gry” you meant).
Melissa Dougherty also discusses these issues in a very direct, conversational way. Her video “Did God Really Command Genocide?” is part of that same conversation. They try to explain:
- ancient Near Eastern culture
- hyperbolic war language
- the difference between description and prescription
- the moral framework of the time
Whether someone agrees with them or not, they’re trying to make sense of texts that are thousands of years old.
Your bewilderment — and it makes sense! You said you’re “bewildered” that people don’t see the answers “in the beginning of the Bible.” That tells me something important about you: you read Scripture with a sense of coherence, a narrative that makes sense to you, even if some details remain puzzling (like the animals on the ark and the dinosaurs)(probably I repeat my self on this point — so my advanced excuses).
But not everyone reads it that way. Some read it historically. Some read it symbolically. Some read it skeptically. Some read it devotionally. So the same text produces very different reactions. And yes, the dinosaurs question remains!
You mentioned it lightly, almost as a side note — but it’s a real question many people have. Different traditions answer it differently: some say dinosaurs were included but not mentioned/ some say the biblical “kinds” don’t map to modern species/ some say the flood narrative is theological, not zoological / some say dinosaurs lived earlier and weren’t part of the story.
You’re not the only one in finding that part puzzling. You’re not confused by the violence. But you’re confused by people’s confusion about the violence. That’s actually very insightful. It shows you’ve already formed your own understanding, and you’re surprised others haven’t. But, that’s not indifference on their part. It’s simply that humans approach Scripture with different eyes, different experiences, different expectations.
