The American rock band The Turtles formed in Los Angeles, California in 1965. They achieved several Top 40 hits throughout the latter half of the 1960s. With their popular song “Happy Together” rising to number one. The boys in the band were lead vocalist Howard Kaylan, backing vocalist Mark Volman, lead guitarist Al Nichol, rhythm guitarist Jim Tucker, bassist Chuck Portz, and drummer Don Murray. The Turtles disbanded in 1970.

"Elenore" is a 1968 song featured on the album The Turtles Present the Battle of the Bands. It was written by Howard Kaylan. The song is a satire of their biggest hit, “Happy Together." The song charted on both the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles charts.

Grim Reaper of Love” is a song by the Turtles and written by their lead guitarist Al Nichol and bassist Chuck Portz. This is a psychedelic raga rock song and being unusual for rock and roll at the time the song was considered an early adapter of jazz fusion. The recording features an early usage of the electric sitar on a pop record.

Guide for the Married Man” is a song featured on the successful album Happy Together. It also became the title track for the film “A Guide for the Married Man."

Happy Together” is a song that was written by Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon. It was released as a single in 1967 and became the band’s first and only chart topper. The song is featured on their album of the same name. After the success of this song the Turtles performed on TV shows such as “The Ed Sullivan Show” and “The Smothers Brothers Show”. The song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2007.

It Ain’t Me Babe” is a song that was written and recorded by the American singer and songwriter Bob Dylan and is featured on his album Another Side of Bob Dylan. A successful version was recorded by the Turtles as a folk-rock arrangement. The band’s recording features both twelve-string guitar and a tambourine.

Let Me Be” is a song that came out in 1965 and was the band’s second single. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was written by P.F. Sloan.

She’s My Girl” is a song that came out in 1967 and reached the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was later released as a bonus track on the album Happy Together in 1994.

"She'd Rather Be with Me" is a song written by Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon and released by the Turtles in 1967. The song was the follow-up to "Happy Together." The song became an international hit and charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The song went to number one on Record World’s 100 Top Pops. It also became the band’s biggest hit in the UK.

You Don’t Have to Walk in the Rain” is a song featured on the band’s album Turtle Soup and was released in 1966. This was the album’s closing track and charted on the Billboard Hot 100.

You Showed Me” is a song written by Gene Clark and Jim McGuinn of the American rock band the Byrds. It was recorded by the Turtles and released as a single of the end of 1968 and became the band’s last big hit in the US. It is featured on their album The Turtles Present the Battle of the Bands. Their version charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Wanderin’ Kind” is the opening track on the band’s debut album It Ain’t Me Babe. It was written by Howard Kaylan and has Kaylan on vocals and keyboards and Mark Volman on vocals and guitars.
